Thanksgiving Readathon

Okay. So last week I only posted once (even though I’ve been trying really hard to post at least twice EVERY week) because, well, life happens. This week we’re going to run into the opposite problem. Yesterday, I shared with you My Favorite YouTube Mixes for Reading/Studying. Today, I’m going to tell you my holiday plans (hint: it’s in the title). Later this week, I will share my thoughts on Everything I Never Told You (maybe I should save this for next week??) and I’ll do a wrap-up on what I’m talking about today. WHEW! Are you ready for this?

I have not always stuck to my guns when it comes to blogging (have I told you about my THREE failed blogs yet?), so I’m nervous about putting myself into the blogging community in case I fall off the face of the earth. Or in case people don’t like me. But this time I’m really doing it.

I’m going to participate in a Thanksgiving Readathon. It’s hosted by Ottavia @ Novels and Nonfiction and Jackie @ Death by Tsundoku and I couldn’t be more excited!

Zach and I are headed back home for the holiday, but really I should say holidays because we’re celebrating once with his family and once with mine. So it should make for a VERY busy week(end). During this time, I also need to get some thesis work done, finish up some projects for the end of the semester, but why not throw books in the mix, too?

Jackie and Ottavia designed this challenge to be a fun way to connect and get some of our TBR lists shortened as the year comes to a close. Can you say so close to finishing my Goodreads challenge?!? I am JUST 4 BOOKS AWAY! (I don’t think I have ever actually completed this challenge in my three + years of *blogging*) So with that being said, I am challenging myself to read 4 books over the Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 22 – Nov. 26). If you’ve checked me out on Goodreads, you know that I am currently reading FIVE books, and I really hope to bring some resolution to this. I also really hope that it isn’t cheating to finish these books (if you think it is, LET ME KNOW, please).

Here is my TBR list for this challenge:

readathon

  1. Gabriel’s Angel by Nora Roberts
  2. Three Wishes by Barbara Delinsky
  3. Once and for All by Sarah Dessen
  4. Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman

I am so thankful for this blog and this little space on the internet where I can challenge myself to be a better reader (and writer). Not pictured above, I’m also reading Wonder, The Story of Arthur Truluv, and I picked up Beartown yesterday because my mom finished reading it and I would really LOVE to get through these books, too.

Now that my reading list is out of control, I’m going to cram days of homework in today, so I can just focus on the books.

What are you up to? Are you going to join the Thanksgiving Readathon hosted by Ottavia and Jackie? What are your family traditions? Are you close to your reading goals yet? How can you keep your TBR list from getting into something impossible?

  1. Welcome to the Thanksgiving Readathon, Molly! I couldn’t be more excited to have you join us. You are SO CLOSE to finishing your Goodreads reading challenge!!! Hopefully, this will be just the boost you need to run past the finish line this year.

I love the diversity of your TBR. It’s great for mood reading! I have really enjoyed Sarah Dessen’s work when I’m in the right mood for it, myself. Plus: two library books! YAY! I love seeing library books in bookish photos. They make me so happy.

Good luck achieving your goals! I’m cheering for your success this readathon.
