Day 25

Merry Christmas friends! I hope that this post finds you happy and healthy and surrounded by those whom you love. I pray that you find peace amongst the chaos and love despite all the problems that we are surrounded by.

Today I am thankful for Jesus.

The glorious reason for this holiday. I am thankful for our Saviour, whose birthday we celebrate today. Who made everything possible by coming to Earth for us.

What are you thankful for today? Remember the reason for this holiday.

Day 24

It’s finally Christmas Eve!! Tomorrow is Christmas!

Today I am thankful for my childhood.

I am thankful for my parents who raised me with a strong will and determination. With a knowledge of things around me. I am thankful for never going hungry. For having pets. For my siblings. I am thankful for going to a good school. For the chance to go to college. For a love a Christ.

There are so many things that I have taken for granted, so many things I don’t even think about. But I am thankful.

What are you thankful for today? Are you ready for tomorrow?

Day 23

2 days! Just 2 days! Are you in the holiday spirit? DO you have all your gifts wrapped and under the tree?

Today I am thankful for people. The good and the bad.

This one is harder, but, for me, this is the time to be thankful for them. From trying to shop this week to driving through the crowds, I have encountered a LOT of people this week. And I am thankful. For each and everyone. I am thankful for the holiday spirit – where you see stories about animals being and homeless people given a place to stay. I am thankful for all of the people in my life and strangers I don’t know.

What are you thankful for today? Amidst the chaos, can you find it in your heart to be thankful for the people who stand in the middle of the isle at Walmart?

Day 22

Just 2 days left until Christmas! I cannot wait. Tonight Zach and I get to head back home. 350 miles. Yay.

Today I am thankful for vehicles.

This 5-hour drive seems endless while we are crossing the state. You may not think corn is exciting, but it is much more exciting than no corn. But I am fortunate. Fortunate that we have a car that can drive us that far. Fortunate to be able to travel that distance in only 5 hours (it would take weeks on horseback!). Very fortunate.

What are you thankful for today? Are you traveling for Christmas?

Have a safe trip!

Day 21

3 days left!

Today I am thankful for my cousin, Marcie.

Children are difficult. This one is no exception. She came to my parents under difficult circumstances. She is annoying and stubborn. But she ahs taught me a lot about patients!

What are you thankful for today?

Day 20

There are only 5 days left, and I am sipping some hot cocoa because it gets me in the mood!

Today I am thankful for hot drinks.

It has been so stinking cold here, that I am so thankful for something to warm me from the inside! Weather hot cocoa, tea, or coffee, I am so thankful for these yummy drinks!

What are you thankful for today? Do you love hot drinks to warm you up?

Day 19

There are 6 days until Christmas! This one is a little more challenging for me.

Today I am thankful for my body.

It’s hard for me to accept myself and my body. But I try. My body is wonderful. I can do amazing things. And I am proud.

What are you thankful for? What something that is more challenging for you to consciously be thankful for?

Day 18

We’re getting there! Only 7 days until Christmas. This one is going to be cheesy guys.

Today I am thankful for friendship.

Just like pets, friends have the ability to shape out experience. I am thankful for these beautiful women who help me get through everything that life throws my way.

What are you thankful for today?

Day 17

I think I may have hit this one a bit while I was talking about college, and finishing out my semester. There are just 8 days until Christmas, time for family.

Today I am thankful for opportunity.

Not just the opportunity to go to school, but the ability to travel 350 miles home to be with my family in just 5 hours. Not weeks. The ability to watch T.V. while I type this on my laptop and snapchat pictures to my sister. The ability to further myself, to get a degree (and *fingers crossed* a master’s). There are so many things that others don’t even have the chance to imagine. That my grandparents never got to experience. Things my parent’s didn’t get to do. Opportunity is such an amazing thing.

What are you thankful for today?

Today I am thankful for my pets.

I know that there are a lot of people that didn’t get to grow up with pets. And I thought that was going to be me until we got Tigger – our first cat. Then we got a puppy – Buddy – with a perma-bump on the top of his head from running into things. After Tigger died, we adopted a kitten. Who subsequently got so sophistiCATed Then we moved and got horses. And a million farm cats. These animals have taught me many things, from patients to cuddles making everything better. I feel blessed because I had the chance to grow with them.

What are you thankful for today? Did you grow up with pets?
